The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged or illegible entries; or (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in the sweepstakes. By participating in the Sweepstakes, you (i) agree to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and the independent judging organization, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to: (i) permanently disqualify from any sweepstakes it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules; and (ii) withdraw the online method of entry if it becomes technically corrupted (including if a computer virus or system malfunction inalterably impairs its ability to conduct the Sweepstakes), and to select winner from among all eligible entries received prior to withdrawal.

Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia age 18 or older at time of entry. Employees of Real Simple Magazine (the “Sponsor”), Unilever U.S. , Inc. (“Unilever”) and their parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter or win. Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law.
How to enter: Method #1 : Visit www.realsimplerewards.com/homebasics and follow all online entry instructions including a tip (“Tip”) for making the most of summer time and submit via the online entry form. Each online entry must include a Tip submission in one of the following categories: a) Simple Delicious Recipe Ideas; b) Beauty Made Simple; or c) Simple Household Hints. Your Tip may include a recipe; or a beauty tip; or an idea that can help you make the most of summer time. Submission of a Tip will not increase, help or hinder your chances of winning the Sweepstakes. A Tip must be submitted along with your online entry. (To enter without providing a Tip, see method #2.) All online entries must be received between 12:01 AM (ET) on 5/11/07 and 11:59 PM (ET) on 6/8/07. Online entrants subject to all notices posted online including but not limited to privacy policy. Limit: One online entry per person or email address per day. Mail-in entries must be postmarked between 5/11/07 and 6/8/07 and received by 6/15/07. Photocopied, facsimile, illegible or mechanically reproduced entries are not eligible. All entries and requests become the property of the Sponsor and Unilever and will not be returned or acknowledged. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected or postage due mail/entries.
Submission of a Tip grants the Sponsor, Unilever and their agents the right to print, copy, publish, use, edit, exhibit, distribute, perform, merchandize, license, sublicense, adapt and/or modify such Tip in any way (and to publish the entrant's name along with such Tip), in any and all media whether now known or hereafter developed, without limitation and without compensation to the entrant. Submission of a Tip further constitutes the entrant's consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to Sponsor and Unilever, any and all rights, title and interest in the Tip, including, without limitation, all copyrights. Furthermore, b y submitting a Tip, entrant represents that s/he has all necessary rights and hereby grant the Sponsor and Unilever , and their affiliated companies and divisions, publication and use rights as described herein. In addition, if a Tip is selected for publication by the Sponsor, Unilever and/ or their agents, the entrant must certify that the Tip was original and that no other person or entity holds rights to the Tip. If a Tip is selected for publication, this does not mean you are the winner in the Sweepstakes.
Prize/Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): One Grand Prize winner will receive a $10,000 check and a private session with a personal home organizer (up to 4-hour only) who will provide advice on the best use of winner's backyard space and guide the winner on his/her purchase of backyard makeover materials (for example: grill, table, chairs, umbrella, swing set, etc.). The session with the personal home organizer is selected and coordinated by the Sponsor and the session must be completed within ninety (90) days of winner verification. Potential winner will be required to execute an agreement (if any) that will permit visit to winner's residence. Services provided by the personal home organizer are subject to his/her terms and conditions. If personal home organizer service is not available, at the Sponsor's sole discretion, a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Once the Sponsor arranges the personal home organizer session, the Sponsor will not be held responsible for any cancellation or postponement thereafter and the Sponsor shall have no further obligation to the winner. If winner chooses not to utilize services of the personal home organizer, said portion of the prize will be forfeited without further compensation and will not be awarded in cash. Total ARV for Grand Prize: $10,340.00. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries, estimated at 1:61,000.
Random Drawing: Grand Prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Random drawing will be conducted on or about 6/21/07 under supervision of Ventura Associates, Inc., an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding. Winner will be notified by overnight mail and/or email and will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and a Publicity Release (“Affidavit/Release”) within 14 days of date specified on notification, or an alternate winner will be selected. If Affidavit/Release or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, it will result in disqualification, and the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner in a separate random drawing. If winner is otherwise eligible under these Official Rules, but is nevertheless deemed a minor in his or her state of primary residence, the prize will be awarded in the name of winner's parent or legal guardian who may be required to execute Affidavit on minor's behalf. No substitutions are permitted except if prize is unavailable, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Prize is not redeemable for cash. Prize is non-assignable and non-transferable except to a surviving spouse. Winner is responsible for all federal, state, local sales and income taxes. Any other incidental expenses on prize not specified herein are the sole responsibility of winner. Prize is guaranteed to be awarded.
General: Entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use winner's name, prize won, hometown and likeness for online posting and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Participating entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of Ventura Associates, Inc. and the Sponsor, and release the Sponsor, Unilever and their affiliated companies, and all other businesses involved in this Sweepstakes, as well as the employees, officers, directors and agents of each, from all claims and liability relating to their participation, acceptance and use of prize.
